Our digital media students had a great time at the Utah Digital Media Arts Festival at UVU on Tuesday, May 7th. Our school was awarded the "Spirit Award" and sophomore student Violet Andrew won first place in the Vector Graphic category with her Adobe Illustrator creation titled "The Rose".
Julie Gowans has taught at Payson High for 13 years, changing several students lives along the way. She has a passion for education and transfers that passion to her students with every lesson. She has a quote in her classroom that reads “I create the future, I teach” which is a great representation of her attitude as a teacher.
As the school year is winding down, our videos this month include, farewells to some of our administrators who will be leaving next year, reflections on some classes that students have been able to take, including some classes that will be coming to PHS next year, we even take a look into the lives of students!

Congratulations are in order to Evyn Staheli and Thobe Talbot who are the Class of 2019’s Valedictorian and Salutatorian, respectively. Not only is this a great honor but it also comes with the opportunity to speak at graduation. Traditionally both the Valedictorian and the Salutatorian are known to give the farewell address to their class to offer inspiring words of both remembrance and encouragement for the future. Staheli and Talbot will be speaking along with current Senior Class President, Bailey Savage and the Principal’s Choice, Logan Bennett.
