Bright Future For Girls Golf

Girls golf has just started and the outlook for the season is looking very promising. The coach of the girls golf team Ms. Miller has been teaching at payson for 23 years, and for 12 of those years she has been coaching girls golf. Coach Miller has won multiple Club Championships at the Payson Golf Course Gladstan, and a few Club Championships at Spanish Oaks Golf Course. Coach Miller is passing her knowledge and experience to the two newest members of the girls golf Team.

Mrs. Griffin’s “Facing History and Ourselves” essay contest

Mrs. Griffin’s classes they’ve begun talking about universal obligation, what it’s about, what it means. They had a full class discussion on this topic. As a class they’re each writing 500 words or less essays about this topic. Michelle Rushton answered by saying,“This means, who are the people who you’re willing to go and help? The people who mean so much to you that you’re always willing to help them out with anything.” This is also about understanding everything that happened in the Holocaust and just be informed about the horrors that occurred.

An Ocean Of Possibility's At FishBowl

On February 15 a group of 29 Payson High students gathered together in the counseling computer lab to head on a special field trip to a company called Fishbowl. Fishbowl is a company that sells and advanced inventory management software. Fishbowl helps either private customers and/or businesses keep track of sales history and inventory they have yet to sell. One very big corporation that uses this software is NASA. NASA uses it too keep track of things that they send to the International Space Station.

Students learn to communicate in the business world

We live in a world where the majority of all students are glued to their smartphones or some other kind of device. Students are texting and snapchatting all day every day, but they don’t know how to communicate in a business setting. In Mrs. Stanley’s English class she is eliminating this problem by preparing her students for communication in a business environment.

This month has been one for the books. This is our first issue with some new staff members and we are very excited to show them off. We have an article on SheTech and Freshman Day. As well as some highlights on some of our broadcasting programs. We also have a brilliant, fun-loving article on Siblings in School you should make sure you check out. We are absolutely in love with this new issue and are just dying to share it with you!

Crystal Apple awarded to Mr. Nelson

Ross Nelson receives the honored award of the Crystal Apple Award. Ross has been teaching for 34 years. He has taught everything from Marketing to Drivers Ed, from Financial Literacy to Business English.

He is a valued teacher to students and a great faculty member at Payson High School.
