Black Panther Movie Review

After watching a movie, I try to find a word that sums up the story and my overall experience while watching. After watching Black Panther, the only word I can actually think of is, “Wow!”

The story is based around protagonist T’Challa, an African prince who has to fix previous problems in his highly electronically advanced Kingdom that his recently deceased Father left behind. He’ll discover what it means to be a leader, and how to define his own path in this life. T’Challa is portrayed by actor Chadwick Boseman. He’s accompanied by Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, and Letitia Wright. This group of four are the main protagonists. Erik Killmonger (the main antagonist) is portrayed by Michael B. Jordan .He makes up the majority of the problems in the film.

Boseman portrays T’Challa in the best way possible. He has the attitude, energy and strength that is always shown when looking at the Black Panther.

I’m gonna come out and say that Erik Killmonger is one of, if not the best villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can truly see where his opinions and and where his and T’Challa’s values differ.

Lupita, Danai, and Letitia are such amazing female supporting characters! To put it simply, the movie would be strikingly worse if these characters were not there.

Wakanda is where the movie takes place. We’ve never seen Wakanda before. But, seeing Wakanda for the first time in its true glory made the audiences mouth gape in awe. The development and the culture of this setting is amazing, and it’s a good change to what’s usually portrayed for Africans in poverty. That’s another thing, these people aren’t in poverty! They are technologically advanced, so their worries are not about survival, but their royalty to the throne. Their technology makes absolutely no sense, but it is so cool! Wakanda is a A+ in my book.

The fight scenes in this movie were phenomenal! When you watch them, you can see how exhilarating, and dangerous it is to live in this universe. If you haven’t seen this movie, go and see it! It will blow you away. I went into this movie with fairly high expectations, and I was astounded with how amazing it was! I give Black Panther 9/10
