Boys Golf celebrates memories made at state tournament

Six athletes from Payson High qualified for the Utah High School Boys Golf Tournment, which is the most to qualify in years. Tag Davis, Cameron Stone, Brennan Jensen, Zac Nielson, Brock Ramos and Dallin Benson each made it to the tournament after a great season of play. “I think it’s a pretty great thing to be a part of, to represent the school in that way,” said Jensen.

All those who made it to state were happy to be there no matter the outcome. “It felt good being a sophomore being there the first year, and knowing I’ll have more experience the next couple years,” said Davis.

“This team of seniors that we have, have been playing for three or four years together, and we finally made it, and it was just really cool to do it with those guys,” Jensen expressed.

Even though they didn’t win, the team had a good time and a good experience. “Getting to see everyone and just kind of figure out where you stand,” Stone said about his favorite experience at state. The team also had other moments outside of playing that were their favorites too. “Getting to stay in the hotel with all the guys, and messing around,” said Davis.

Congratulations to those who worked hard this season, and to those who made it to state!
