Classroom spotlight: Mrs. Mcmurdie

Submitted by kate.searle on

Mrs. McMurdie is an amazing character who is another great teacher here at PHS. She teaches the infamous course titled, AP Statistics. In AP stats, the students learn to design and organize surveys and experiments, gather and analyze data numerically and graphically, and apply inferential statistics to draw conclusions for a population. One of her AP students, Tyler Johnson, has very high praise for the class saying, “Mrs. McMurdie has a way to keep everybody involved, I went into this class thinking that she was a really good teacher and so far I’m not disappointed.”

Tyler is also taking another honors class from her and really enjoys it! This year there are only 10 people indulging themselves to the joys of the course, and Mrs. McMurdie hopes that next year and the years to follow, there will be more people willing to test their boundaries and try AP Statistics. Mrs. McMurdies classes have a 100% pass rate in the years she’s taught the class, if you didn’t already know, “AP” means “Advanced Placement” which means if you pass the test at the end of the course you receive college credit, so the hard work definitely pays off!
