Cross Country Takes Home the Victory

Submitted by kate.searle on

On Tuesday, October 14th the Cross Country teams traveled to North Sanpete High School for the region championship race. Projected times showed that the girls would win with room to spare and the boys would have a close fight for the title with Richfield. Both teams raced their hardest and there were many top finishers from our team. Our very own Dakota Lange took first place, making this year his first region champion title. He says “Region was a good day. It was fun to see the girls win. It was actually my first time winning Region so it was a good tune up for state.”  Other top finishers included Emilio Leiva (5th), Haley Dixon (4th), Claire Rowley (6th), and Tiana Argyle (7th). Coach Rockwood says of the meet “It was the most exciting, gutsiest race I’ve ever seen. It was really fun to watch and I’m so proud of all my runners.” The following week, at the state championship, Dakota took 5th place individually, the girl’s team took 8th place, and the boys took 10th.
