Girls Soccer: Payson vs Spanish Fork

Submitted by kate.searle on

Thursday, September 24 was a big day for Payson’s Girls Soccer team. This was the day they would play rival school, Spanish Fork. Weeks earlier, when these two teams played for the first time, Payson lost a heartbreaker in over-time 3-2. Payson, ready to get their revenge, kicked off the game very strong, and very ready to fight. Both teams played very strong offensively and defensively, but Spanish Fork managed to get a goal in the 40th minute and right before half time.

Payson worked hard the second half to try and even the score, and keep Spanish Fork from doubling their lead, but the girls were unable to find the back of the net. Even though the Lions were unable to find themselves a goal, they did shut the Dons out second half and the game ended 1-0. It was a heartbreaking loss for our Lions, but Payson is ready to get back on the field and dominate the Uintah Utes on September 30, for their last home game. Come support your Lady Lions!
