Homecoming 2014

Homecoming of 2014 was a success! The dance was held at Payson High School on September 6, 2014. The dance began at 7:00pm, but the party didn’t start until around 8:00pm. Everyone wants to be “fashionably late” for Homecoming. The Homecoming queen and king for 2014 were Raquel Williams, and John Harmon. The prince and princess were Brady Barker and Camri Jensen, and duke and duchess were Peyton Osborn and Grace Wilson.

Homecoming day dates were a success too! The Homecoming Queen’s group went swimming at Homestead Crater Hole in Midway. Another group went to Park City for the Alpine Slide. Other groups were found at Hang Time, Sandy Beach, and rafting down the Provo River. Popular dinner restaurants included Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse, and La Jolla Groves. Another popular dining option was of the home style variety—where couples enjoyed a homemade dinner.

The actual Homecoming dance was beautiful. The atmosphere created by Student Council was perfect. The Homecoming theme for this year was “Never Stop” by Safety Suit.  The patio at Payson High was decorated in a Never Land theme—including antique clocks, lights, and a Peter Pan backdrop. The couples themselves added to the scene. The dance was attended by 127 couples.  White dresses were the popular choice of the night. Short dresses were also more popular than floor length.

The last song of the night was played at 10pm. Most couples then dispersed to ice cream joints around Payson. After the dance, most couples get ice cream, watch a movie, or play night games. Whether you’re a sophomore with a midnight curfew or senior with none, Homecoming night was magical.
