Nebo District and the County Board of Health have determined that, because of increased COVID-19 case counts at Payson High School and in our community, Payson High School will be moving to an “Alternating Day Schedule” beginning on November 16. Tomorrow, November 13th, our school will be closed in order to focus on deep cleaning and give teachers time to make the transition.

The “Alternating Day Schedule” will be in place until at least November 30th, with the hope that we will be able to reduce the case counts and have all students return to full “At-School Learning” after this date. Specific questions can be answered by emailing me at jesse.sorenson [at] nebo.edu (jesse[dot]sorenson[at]nebo[dot]edu).

Students with classes at ALC and MTECH will attend all of their classes as regularly scheduled. Students will not be allowed to be in the building on the days they are not assigned to be here.
Busses will run their regular schedule daily.

Students who need lunch will need to call in to place their orders. More details will be available later.

Students will NOT attend school tomorrow, Friday, November 13 in order to give teachers the opportunity to prepare for the adjusted schedule.

Almost all of the COVID-19 cases that we are having at school are due to social interactions that occur outside of school. Therefore, we continue to ask everyone to follow COVID-19 safety protocols in all of your own personal decisions.

We will keep you notified about our progress towards returning all of our students back to Payson High School for “At-School Learning” every day of the week.

Thanks so much for your patience and understanding,

Jesse Sorenson

Principal, Payson High School
