Payson High Custodian earns Nebo PEAK Award

Submitted by katie.kelly on

Our very own custodian, Von Dansie, was awarded the October Nebo PEAK Award. Thanks for all of your hard work Von! We appreciate everything you do for our school. Von was nominated by Mike Adams, RaShel Shepherd, Mary Ford, Jennie Bardsley, Diana Steele, Kevin Mecham, Kelli Topham, Robert Taylor, and David Rockwood.

“Von Dansie is an outstanding custodian. One thing that causes Von to stand out from other custodians is his positive, happy, friendly personality. Von builds positive relationships with teachers, students, sweepers, and community members. He takes pride in PHS, and our school looks amazing. The floors are shiny, windows gleaming, and everything looks organized and clean. Von takes pride in the accomplishments of our students. He knows their names, encourages them, and helps them celebrate their successes. Von knows their parents and their grandparents and helps them feel connected and an integral part of PHS. Von goes above and beyond to help meet our students’ and teachers’ needs. He helps make our older classrooms as functional and well equipped as possible. After waiting for the bleacher contractor to correct a mistake, Von took it upon himself to adjust the rails and fix the bleachers himself. If he sees a job needs to be done, he does it. Von’s custodians and sweepers love being on his team. He shows appreciation and helps them feel important. Von is one of a kind and we are so grateful to have him at PHS.”
