Intensity, sweat, blood, and a drive for the game.  Our Payson Lions Soccer team has dominated the field and taken over the region.  With a record of 8-0, the boys succeeded in becoming region champions.

The team went undefeated in the region, and fought a hard battle in state.

“Granted, our region was easy, but we have a phenomenal team this year and we’ll go far in state.  This is the best team Payson has had in a long time.” said senior midfielder McKay Savage.  With so much dedication and talent, there is no doubt that the boys have made Payon High proud.

“I like the team a lot, they are real good.” Said Coach Andrew Wright.  His team has given everything and worked harder than ever to do better than ever.

The boys played a fantastic game against Morgan, dominating both the field and the score.  They put up a good game to Dixie in the 2nd round of state, and some how barely came short of a win.  They played well though and did their best.

Their success in region not only makes them better soccer players but gives them a sort of team unity.  They are a strong team with a strong bond and that is why they play so well together.

“Our team this year is the best team Payson has ever had period.” Said Patrick Rodriguez.

It’s been a great season for our Payson Lions, they’ve had so much success and have been overwhelmed with pride and accomplishment.  They’ve have done well to make Payson high proud.
