On Saturday, January 16th, the Paysetters took a trip to 3A Region. The most important Drill competition of the season.

“Region was nerve wracking and exciting all at once. I was just ready to take the floor and leave everything out there,” Hannah Marin said.

Feeling pumped and prepared to attack the dance floor, these ladies danced their hearts out and scored impressively high, with almost perfect scores, but were setback by a penalty given to their lift group in Character, placing them 2nd overall.

Captain Becca Brown, Junior Kaylee Peterson and Cassidy Gull took home Drill Down awards respectively for first, second and third place.

On January 9th, our Paysetters went down to Richfield to compete, and took home two third place awards. One in character, and one for hip-hop. With two girls, Cassidy Gull and Jessica Knapp placing top 5 in Regional Drill Down. They danced their hardest and returned home with improvements to make in each routine and a building momentum.

“We’re ready to take State. That penalty at Region was a fluke, and soon every team will know what Payson is made of. We have the chance and the potential to be champions. Now all we have to do is take it for ourselves,” Drill Coach Ashley Mortensen said.

They’ve returned home to prepare for State, and take back the title of champions. State is on February 1st, at UVU Campus and we all wish these ladies luck as they dance their way to the top!
