For the first time in over a decade, Payson High has a swim team. With a only 7 members, there must be a lot of time and dedication put into practice to prepare them for the upcoming winter competition season against the larger teams. There’s also a lot of fundraising that the team has been hosting to help prepare them for all of the swimming gear costs. One fundraiser that happened this month was the Full Moon fun run! It was a great success, and everyone who went had a great time. With so much pressure on this little team to do well, we wonder where the determination started, but after an interview with our swim teams coach, Jilyan Bulkley, we got a pretty good idea where the dedication came from.
“Great things come in small packages. And with some hard training, this small team will be just as good as the larger swim teams, maybe even better.” said Coach Bulkley.
Paysons first swim competition will be on November 8th, against and competition will run until January. So come on Lions, lets support our new team! Come watch a competition, or attend one of their awesome fundraisers. If you're interested in swimming on the team, talk to Jilyan Bulkley for more information on how you can be on the Payson swim team!
