PHS National Honor Society Serves the Community

The National Honor Society is a service oriented club that loves to have fun. Every month members of the National Honor Society go to the Food and Care Coalition and help serve the homeless.  There the students get to serve the food, wash the dishes, dish out the food, and also give canned and boxed food to the needy.  The NHS also does one other service project each month.  This month NHS tied fleece blankets that will be donated to the homeless shelter at the end of the month.  These blankets will be used to keep the needy warm and comfortable as the cold weather draws near.

This year’s president is Breanna Nelson, followed by Mary Anne Rowley, Vice President; Ale Hernandez, Secretary; Audrey Miller, Historian; and Mercedes John, Public relations.   The NHS adviser is Joy Benson.  She is the one who keeps the club going, and the members motivated. “This year’s NHS members are the best ever!” said Benson.  Members of NHS are required to have a 3.75 GPA, and be actively involved in the community.  If anyone is interested talk to Mrs. Benson in the counseling office and pick up an application.
