On November 5, 2015 the Utah Department of Environmental Quality announced Payson High 11th-grader Necia Torres as the winner of the 2016 Radon Poster Contest.  Students throughout the state submitted hand drawn posters to inform people of the dangers of radon in their homes.

Torres and Payson High received $100 cash awards for the entry.  Other Nebo School District students were also awarded prizes including Brooklyn Hawkins and Emeline Harty from Diamond Fork Junior High.  Visit radon.utah.gov or call the Utah radon information hotline at 1-800-458- 0145 for information on radon test kits, radon warning signs and contest information.
