Provo Bike Trip

Submitted by kate.searle on

On Tuesday, May 3, Mrs. Miller’s B3 class participated in a biking trip. This journey started in Provo, lasted for 20 miles, and ended in Thanksgiving Point. Being a small class, staying together and finishing fast was no difficult task.

The class met at the start of first period, and left in the suburbans to Provo. Although tired by the end, no student was injured, and each had a great experience to remember.

Mr. Sorenson was along for the ride, acting as a supervisor and mentor. Equipped with a professional bike, he was clearly prepared for the moment to show off his biking expertise.

The trail itself was paved the entire way, with variations of inclines and declines. One challenge given to the students was “Don’t stop pedaling, don’t get off of your bike”, when approaching a long, steep incline. When completed, the remainder of the path was flat or downhill altogether.

They took the Front Runner back to Provo, ate lunch at McDonald’s, and headed back to school. This activity has been done every year, exclusively for Mrs. Miller’s Individualized Life Activities class.
