Sterling Scholar Spotlight

Here at Payson High School we’re proud of our Sterling Scholars, and many have been highlighted. Micah Toelupe, the winner of the Visual Art Sterling Scholar, needs his time to shine! Not saying we saved the best for last but...

Micah has been drawing, painting, dreaming and doodling since a very young age, as long as he can remember. To the people who grew up with Micah the fact that he won this Scholar was a “no duh” scenario. Micah knows for sure that art will be more than just a hobby in his future, when asked he answered, “I definitely want art to be a big part of my future.”

Many students know of Micah’s artistic talent, and many more have originals painted from the master himself that were given as presents.  When asked why he tried for Sterling Scholar Micah stated, “This was just a big dream for me, I always wanted to be the Visual Arts Sterling Scholar, to excel in the art world. The Sterling Scholar was something that helped me achieve that, that helped me put myself out there.” We’re so proud of Micah here at PHS and we can’t wait to see where his art takes him! Congratulations Micah on earning the Visual Art Sterling Scholar.
