The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America held their first ‘Waffle Wednesday’ of the year on Sep. 6, 2018 where they introduced their leadership, the activities that were coming up and encouraged the waffle eaters to join the club. Mrs. Heaps, coordinator for the organization, said, “Get your friends and join together, that’s what makes it fun.” Additionally, students that pay the $20 dues before Tuesday the 11th, get to go on a field trip to the State fair, and get a membership shirt.

During the meeting, Danielle Wilkinson explained how the club organizes different events including Sadie Hawkins and Red Ribbon week. They need help with setting up, decorating and planning. Any student, not just FCCLA members, can sign up to help for the events, all you have to do is talk to Mrs. Heaps or an officer.

This years officers are: Clara Beddoes, Kassie Neal, Makell Loveless, Katelyn Connelly and Danielle Wilkinson. The officers and Mrs. Heaps highly encourage students to join FCCLA, not only to get involved, but also to “promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences education.”
