The Boys Are Back: Lions Basketball Begins Nov 20

Another season of boys basketball begins. Their first event of the year is the Green and White game which features both PHS basketball and Bantam basketball teams. To kick off the night, the local Bantam teams will play against one another.  Following these teams there will be a three-point competition, a dunk contest, finishing with an appearance from our beloved basketball boys. This event will take place on November 20 at 6:00 pm at the high school.

When asked about the upcoming season, head Coach Anthony Mitchell says, “After months of open gym and summer tournaments, it’s great to start playing games that actually mean something, along with a gym full of people cheering the team on... it’s great.” Next to Mitchell, Craig Buys, Warner Hunter, and Clint Bateman will serve as assistant coaches.

The first region game of the season is on November 27, the same night as the annual tree festival auction. The game will take place at 7:00 pm at the high school. The boys are looking forward to taking the court again while being cheered on by the best student section in the state. Mitchell concludes, “Hopefully the ball bounces in our favor.”
