2009 PHS Cross Country Athletes Set School Records

The Cross Country season is coming to a close with much to brag about.  With their many wins and new school records set, the team has represented Payson well.  "Cross country kids are great to work with!" said Coach Peck. The Cross Country team had an especially young team this year with most of the top runners being sophomores.  Team captains Kai Schulze and Chloe Williams ran the three mile course with times of 17:42 and 22:09.
   Along the the new school records there has also been many personnel records set. Everyone on the team has individually improved.  "The cross country kids worked hard and played hard," said Coach Peck.  The team also has one academic region winner, Blake Reynolds.
   Recently at the region meet Cross country had some great times, but unfortunately did not make it on to state.   Top times for girls at region: Chloe Williams 22:10, Keily Hiatt 21:30, Paige Rowley 21:11, Chamine Delaney 24:59 and Aubrey Garner 25:00.
Top times for boys at region: Kai Schulze 18:01, Clayton Skousen 18:35, Frank Meng 19:04 Cody Kennison 19:10 and Tyler Watson 19:21.
The top varsity runners for the boys are: Kai Schulze, Clayton Skousen, Cody Kennison, tony Mondragon, Tyler Watson, Blake Reynolds, Frank Meng and Nathan Womack.
The top varsity girls: Keily Hiatt, Ambree Draper, Chloe Williams, Chesea Ramos, Aubrey Garner and Chamine Delaney.
