History in the Making is the theme of the 2011 Payson High School Homecoming Week. Celebrating 100 years of Payson High history, the weekend will kick off Thursday Sept. 15 with a moonlight parade.

“We want to do something special and different for the 100th year and we hope the parade will achieve that,” said Payson High Student Body Advisor Melissa Brotherson.

The parade route will start on 700 South Main and end at the Payson High south parking lot. The community is then invited to join Payson High for a hometown pep rally.

“We invite the graduates of Payson High of all ages to get together and enter something into the parade,” Brotherson said, “Something that says their graduating year, a truck, a golf cart, an old car.”

Friday September 16 a tailgate party will be held at the high school before the big game. The homecoming game is against Union High School, kickoff is at 7 pm.

Payson High hopes the community will join in the 100th year celebration of the high school.

Other homecoming week activities for the students of Payson High School include exhibition games between sports teams and faculty, assemblies, selection of the homecoming royalty, and a dance held Saturday September 17.
