The Lion’s Roar Newspaper Staff at Payson High School is ready to report. With fourteen student writers, photographers, and layout designers the school paper is sure to look better than ever. One change the community can expect to see this year is color. The Lion’s Roar will print two color pages per edition.

In addition to color there will be new types of articles. The combination of new and old staff members infuses a fresh life into the paper and new ideas.

“You can expect to see a lot of new types of articles and layout designs from the many talented staff members we have this year,” said Lion’s Roar Editor Mercedes John.

Under the leadership of Payson High’s Krystal Baker, seniors Mercedes John and Audrey Miller will serve as head editors of the paper. Staff writers, photographers and designers also include: seniors Bryce Clyde, Jakob Johnson, Janessa Reynoso, KD Apgood, Melissa Green and Taylor Campbell. Juniors include: Braden Clark, Daniela Garcia, Jayden Worwood, Maygan Straight, Ryeley Butler and Spencer Durrant.

“I am really excited for this year’s staff,” Baker said.  “We are a cohesive group and have a lot of natural talent.”

Payson High can look forward to 8 editions of The Lion’s Roar this year covering everything from Payson sporting events, fine arts performances, student and teacher highlights, to a special column celebrating 100 Years of Payson High.
