The Lady Lions’ soccer team ended a great season this month with the opportunity to go to the first-round of state in St. George to play Dixie High School.  The girls played very well and their hard work throughout the season got them there.

During the game Payson and Dixie stayed neck and neck the first half of the game at 0-0 then, in the second half, Dixie pulled away and won 4-0.

“We’ve worked really hard to get here, I mean we’ve gone to state 3 years in a row and that’s a big accomplishment,” said Team Captain Kaneesha Goodworth.

“Even though it was frustrating at times, I wouldn’t have traded this year for anything because I love soccer and I love the soccer team and we did awesome,” said Natalie Tobler.

These girls had a great season this year, with great improvement throughout the season and finishing 3rd in region.

“This season was really fun,” head coach, Coach Wright said. “We tied for the best record Payson High girls’ soccer has had in 10 years.”

Way to go Lady Lions’ soccer!
