August 19, 2015 marks the start of a brand new school year.  The smell of books, cafeteria food, and crowded hallways fills the air.  The feeling of anticipation, excitement, and nerviness fills each teacher and student's heart.

What will this year be like?  What if I get lost? What if I don’t have any friends?  Many questions cross your mind and instead of worrying about them find your answers using these great resources:

Counseling office: Here you can find help with class scheduling, graduation information, pathway information, and trained counselors to help you overcome any issues you might be facing.

Front office: You won’t meet two nicer people than Mrs. Mattinson and Mrs. Steele.  They can help you get checked in or out, forms and waivers, and answer any questions that you might have.

School website: Make sure to check the school website often for daily announcements, links, and a calendar of all the fun events happening.

Classrooms: Even though teachers don’t actually live at the school they know a lot about want is going on.  Don’t be afraid to ask them questions, the bite only stings for a minute.

Other students: Even though it is terrifying to talk to someone new, just try it.  There are many helpful and happy students who can help you out.  If you want to make new friends you first need to be brave enough to start a conversation.  It can be as easy as asking, “What grade are you in?” or “What class do you have first period?”  It’s everyone’s first few days of school and chances are they are feeling the same as you.

With these great resources you are sure to have a great first few days of school.  Keep your chin up, smile, and keep coming school.
