Fashioning a Trip to New York City

Submitted by kate.searle on

Every two years, Mrs. Thomas’ Clothing and Fashion classes are eligible to go to America’s fashion capital, New York City. There they will be able to learn the strategies and secrets of how to dress uniquely and in vogue, depending on the situation.

There will be a student/parent meeting on Thursday, February 8 at 7:00 PM where ambitious fashion and sewing students will learn the specifics of the visit to The Big Apple. The actual trip will take on the week of October 15, 2018. This is a great opportunity to witness and show off what PHS students have been learning in the real fashion-forward world. Fashion Strategies student, Jaycee Zimmerman, who is definitely going says, “I’m excited to get out of Payson, see exciting new cultures, all the different people, and go to historic places in America.” Although the $1500 may seem expensive, however, the tour will cover a meetup with well known designers, a show on Broadway, a visit to the 9/11 memorial and five nights in a hotel in the heart of NYC, Times Square: something that isn’t easy to get offered any other day. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is only a small part of the big apple that’s Mrs. Thomas’s classes.
