Our very own PHS had a special visit from the Utah Governor Spencer Cox. He met with all of the student leaders at our school for a Q and A and was able to provide great advice and information about the state of Utah. He talked about his past and where he grew up and what his hopes are for our state. Governor Cox then took a little tour of our school and visited the Footloose locker!

Following that, he was introduced in a school assembly. In this assembly he met with a student panel and answered questions that are important to our student body. The student panel consisted of Joshua Laker, Emma Mathews, Bre Jardine, Kelsey Argyle, and Oscar Menjivar. They each came prepared with a question for the governor and were able to receive advice and answers.

After the panel, Cox was able to leave our students with some great advice such as “There is no substitute for hard work” and “You never have to tear someone down to get ahead in life.” He was able to share a positive message and leave our students feeling encouraged and excited for the future. Thank you so much Governor Cox and his staff!

A video of the school-wide assembly with the school can be viewed here.

Photos taken of his visit can be viewed at this link.
