Exactly 39 years ago today, on February 17, 1984, was the premier of the movie Footloose, starring Kevin Bacon. As many of you know, the high school scenes in this iconic movie were filmed at our very own Payson High. It's our gym, stadium, cafeteria, lockers, classrooms, and hallways. It was a movie that helped to define the 80's generation with it's great music, message, and of course . . . the dancing (not to mention the 80's styles). And so, in a way, Payson High became part of the broader American cultural memory. In the year 2014, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the film, Kevin Bacon himself sent a personalized video to the student body of PHS.
