Thursday night's Week 5 matchup was between Timpanogos(4-0) and Payson(2-2). The Lions got off to a hot start scoring on their first drive. Just 13 seconds of game time after Jaxon Bulkley opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown dive, Dylan Wall returned an interception 22 yards for another score to double Payson's score.

On the next offensive series, Kade Edwards found Wall for a 31-yard touchdown to go up 21-0, and the rout was on. Next offensive possession Cooper Swasey caught a 3-yard TD strike with 2:11 left in the first quarter. Right after that on the next defensive series Kamden Schmimpf returned a second interception 20 yards for a score to end the quarter, with the visiting Lions on top 35-0. In the second quarter, Edwards added two more touchdowns to Wall and Swasey to take a huge 49-6 lead into halftime.

The Lions controlled the second half with the running clock, a strong ground game, and big defensive stops by Trey Worthen with a sack, and Rett Robinson with a pick was just enough to finish the game as Payson won big 49-6.
