Here are some highlights from the Science Olympiad State Competition last weekend! The following students medaled in their events:
3rd place in cryptography (using math to decrypt encoded messages): Lorien Briscoe, Olivia Nielson, and Daxton Robbins
3rd place in flight (building a plane powered only by a rubber band, our team's plane flew for almost a minute): Allayna Chidester and Abbygale Rowley
3rd place in forensics (using chemistry lab skills and forensics knowledge to solve a crime): Allivia Roberts and Ally Young
These students have all worked really hard and placing at state is no small feat! In a lot of ways, participating in a science olympiad event is like adding an extra, very challenging class to your schedule. Tell them congratulations if you see them!
