PHS wrestling concluded an outstanding season at the UHSAA 5A State Championships this week. We brought home 3 individual state champions, 2 individual state runners-up, 14 state placers, and a team finish of 2nd place. It was also an historic year in which January Langston became the first woman state champion wrestler in the history of the school! She was also voted as the "outstanding wrestler" of the tournament by the coaches.
Our individual state champions are January Langston, Colton Theobald, and Landen Shurtleff. Our individual state runners-up are Ethan Bolton and Aaron Garcia. Our boys team, with 22 wrestlers competing in state, finished in 2nd place. Our girls team, composed of only one wrestler, finished in 14th place--an extraordinary place with only a single wrestler. Congratulations wrestlers; We are so proud of you!
