Payson Track & Field won the Region Championships in Overall Combined Scores (Boys + Girls)! Boys took 1st, and Girls took 3rd. Our region this year included 2022 AND 2023's State Champion teams, so this is a really hard Region. Our kids SHOWED UP!

Lions T&F had an amazing weekend at the BYU Invitational on May 4, 2024. The BYU Invitational is one of the most competitive track meets west of the Rockies--much more competitive than the Utah state championships. And our kids SHOWED UP!
Brei Cook broke the PHS girls 300m hurdles record with a time of 46.41. And then Kambri Muir broke that record in literally the next race with a time of 46.22!
Olivia Nielson broke the PHS girls 400m dash record (her record from last year) with a new time of 58.9. Her little sister, Halle, broke the Freshman girls 400m dash record with a time of 1:00.68.
Braxton Shirley broke the PHS boys high jump record with a jump of 6' 7". He also was BYU Invitational champion in that event, which means he basically beat every jumper in Utah, Wyoming, and Nevada!
Spencer King broke the Junior boys 800m run record with a time of 2:03.76.
Seth Staley qualified for state in the long jump, the 100m dash, and the 200m dash!!! Great meet for him!
Tavia Van Nosdol qualified for state in the discus.
The BYU Invitational gave us 9 new entries to the PHS Top 10 lists, with a running total of 51 new entries in the 2024 season! Thank you all for your support this year!
