Walmart Gives

Submitted by kate.searle on Wed, 09/27/2017 - 10:43

Friday, September 8th and Tuesday September 12th were “days of giving” for the Walmart located in Payson. Walmart showed up at Payson High School with a wooden pallet full of school supplies for the teachers and students. This was a very unexpected gift that was very much appreciated. One teacher who benefitted from this donation was Señor Peck. He said, “It wasn’t anything huge some red pens and other school supplies, but it was definitely appreciated.”

Comeback season

Payson wrestling is a very successful and very strict tradition among those that are involved with this brutal sport. The physical and emotional exhaustion carries on throughout the months of the season. The commitment and the sacrifice given by the wrestlers is tremendous. Everyday is another opportunity to improve and get better individually and as a team, it is no secret that wrestling is a challenging sport, and especially at Payson. Last wrestling season the state title was just within their reach, but fell short and lost the state title to Wasatch.

There is a classroom inside of this school that not very many of you know about. When you walk inside the North East doors of our school, turn right, the first classroom to your left often goes unnoticed. This classroom is Mrs. Liddle’s classroom. Mrs. Liddle is the teacher of a 17 students. These are no ordinary students, these are some of the most extraordinary students this school has ever known. Mrs. Liddle teaches a Utah Community Based Transition (UCBT) class, here at Payson High School.

I wanted to become a teacher because I enjoy working with young people and making a difference.” Mr. Kelly has been married to his lovely wife for 34 years now, he has five children and 6 grandchildren. The first thing he noticed when he came to Payson High, was how nice everybody was to him!

They all had really good feedback about Mrs. Shepherd, they’re all very excited to see how the school year goes, they hope she brings positivity to the school. Also, they all feel so connected to Mrs. Shepherd, they love her ideas and how open she is. She cares so much about the school, teachers and students.
