“Every February, the U.S. honors the contributions and sacrifices of African Americans who have helped shape the nation. Black History month celebrates the rich cultural heritage, triumphs and adversities that are an indelible part of our country’s history” (Jonathan Franklin).
Last week on Friday (1/20), Payson High School hosted its first Speech and Debate Tournament. The team worked incredibly hard and because of this they took home the 1st place title! They had multiple students place in their individual categories and the competition was an overall success. Congratulations to Payson High’s Speech and Debate Team!

Payson High is full of great Students! Every month different teachers are asked to nominate a student that is extra excellent and the top students earn student of the month. Congrats to the December winners: Caleb Young, Abigail Cobia, Jackuline Barajas, Rylee Baxter, Jessica Alvarado, and Olivia Vincent.
We hope you had a wonderful holiday break. Classes start up again on Wednesday January 4th with the first day of 2nd Semester. It will be a B day, and we will have a normal bell schedule. Be sure to double-check your class schedules.
