Nebo District and the County Board of Health continue to monitor the COVID-19 case counts at Payson High School and in our community and have determined that Payson High School will plan to continue with the “Alternating Day Schedule” until January 4, 2021.

More information can be found in your e-mail from Principal Sorenson and on Nebo School District's website. 

Due to a spike in COVID cases, there will be no school for students on Friday, November 13. Staff members will spend the day preparing for the alternating schedule, which will begin on Monday, November 16th. Here is a link to the schedule. At PHS we recognize the quiet courage, steadfast selflessness, and unprecedented patriotism of our military veterans. Because of the pandemic restrictions, we were not able to hold an in-person assembly to honor and thank our veterans and to help develop the same in our students as we normally do. Instead, our Social Studies department organized a wonderful virtual assembly that can be viewed at the link below. It was broadcast into every classroom during our assembly time today.

Most of you have probably heard the governor’s declaration Sunday night. He declared a state of emergency with specific mandates for the next two weeks. His full declaration can be read HERE. To read KSL News’s summary, you can click HERE. Relevant to us at PHS are the following points:

Our amazing PHS volleyball team will be playing Skyline High School in the first round of the state championships on Tuesday November 3rd at 6:00 PM. The match-up will be at Skyline HS. 

We would love to see a supportive and positive Payson crowd at the game. Ticketing instructions are below. Because November 3 is also Election Day, we encoruage all volleyball game attendees who are also eligible voters to cast their ballots early in order to avoid a conflict. 

Ticketing Instructions:

Intermountain Healthcare’s mobile testing unit will be in Payson at the Wasatch Behavioral Health site. Utah County Health is not targeting specific zip codes or populations, all are welcome. Utah County Health does not require any documentation. See attached flyer.

Mrs. Burdick's class is participating in "Inktober"! Inktober is a yearly event that happens every October to bring the art community together. According to their website, "Inktober is a month long art challenge created by artist Jake Parker that is focused on improving skill and developing positive drawing habits."
