Payson High School is excited to announce that our new head baseball coach will be Coach Riley Daniels. Outgoing head coach Hadley Thorpe has accepted the head coach job at Spanish Fork High School. We are grateful to Coach Thorpe for his years of service to the PHS baseball community.
The track & field team had a record-breaking year. Ten outright school records were broken, several more broke into the top three of all -time in their respective events, and scores of athletes broke grade records. For a school that is over 110 years old, that is really hard to do. See the ten outright school records below. To see a complete list of all the school records, see the links on the PHS Track & Field homepage.

We know that most of you have already heard this, but we want to officially post the update to our website. Due to an unexpected power outage, all classes at Payson High School are canceled for 5/11/23. We have also postponed the field trip to UVU for those who were going to take the Accuplacer test. (Stay tuned for when this event will be rescheduled.) The Region Championship Track meet is still happening today at Cedar Valley High School. Coaches of other spring sports will communicate directly to their team members about practice today.
New York Times best selling authors Neal Shusterman and Eric Elfman came to Payson High School on Friday April 18, 2023, for an amazing assembly. They discussed their new book "I am the Walrus" and also discussed topics like the writing process, the co-writing process, where their ideas come from , and more. They opened the assembly up for questions and our student body did not disappoint with their outstanding questions.
Aloha! May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, and it is a time to celebrate and appreciate the rich cultural contributions of AAPI communities in the United States. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have made immense contributions to America's economy, politics, arts, and sciences. From trailblazers like Patsy Mink, who was the first woman of color elected to Congress, to groundbreaking scientists like Michio Kaku, AAPIs have impacted and enriched our nation's history and culture.
