PHS Donates 84 Pints of Blood

Thanks to the efforts of FBLA and Mrs. Bridges, the students of Payson High School have the opportunity to give blood and save lives. This year, we have already had two blood drives, and the last one was a great success! Students, teachers and faculty alike came out to give blood, and together we donated 84 pints. Our goal was to donate 90 pints, and we were short by 6 pints! Six measly pints short! That’s only six students who chose not to give blood! Mrs.

PHS Marching Band: Pride of the Lions

Corina Michaelis and Travis Wilkinson, both Drum Majors of the marching band! As the Drum Majors, their responsibility is to keep time for the band. They’re the Big cheese in essence, the big Kahuna if you will. The Pride of the Lions Marching band is in a AA class or Two A class. I asked her what the Marching Band for all of us out there that don’t really know what they do; Corina simply put “We’re a concert band that happens to march”  

PHS Color Guard

                Look out for that rifle flying through the air; it’s our Payson Color Guard! The color guard is responsible for all the sparkle, the magic in the band. From the color of their flags to sparkle in their smiles they make flags fly high and rifles spin wild. “It’s not always easy, sometimes we have a hard time doing all the visuals” said Summer Simmons. Some of the visuals include dancing, jazz walking, twirling the flag’s and rifles and all sorts of crazy things.

Payson High Tributes Giuliano Gagliano

          On October 10th 2009, Payson High lost a great friend. Giuliano Gagliano was no ordinary High School senior. “He was always happy, always singing. No matter what, he could always find something to celebrate” said a friend.  He was a peacemaker, as a friend of Giuliano said,” if there was ever a fight, he’d try to calm the people down.” His loud, happy, and unbound soul could make anyone smile. “this boy had his path, he knew what he wanted.
