Coming soon to all of Payson High school, after weeks of waiting, is the 2012 – 2013 Lip Dub, filmed to the song “Pop Danthology.”
The making of the Lip Dub may seem like simple task, however, this is quite a lengthy process. A lot of planning, thought, time, and practice is put in to make it the best possible.
This year Payson is honored to have two bright young ladies in the Miss Payson Royalty, Emily Hayes and Paige Downey. The day of March 16 marked the day of the Miss Payson Pageant, where Paige Downey, Emily Hayes, Noelle Peck, Rachel Rowley, and Kylee Swenson competed for the open positions in the Payson Royalty. Emily Hayes, a 2012 Payson High graduate, was crowned Miss Payson and Paige Downey, a junior here at Payson High, was crowned her first attendant on Saturday evening.
On March 14-16, members of the Payson FFA chapter, as well as some competitors, attended the Utah State FFA Convention at Snow College in Richfield, Utah. We had several winners from the Payson FFA chapter in a lot of the competitions. Payson’s FFA was awarded the 5-Star Chapter Award, the Superior Chapter Award, 100% membership, 10% membership increase, and the Utah State Fair Sweepstakes Swine, Crops, and Overall award.
On March 14, four girls boarded a plane that went across the country to the Big Apple. Kalee Doyle, Emily Shaw, Nicole Kunzler and McKenzie Stubbs had the opportunity to take a breathtaking tour of New York City and participate in the 2013 Nebo Fashion Tour.
Payson High students were joined by Salem, Maple Mountain and Spanish Fork. Because it was a fashion/design tour, we were able to tour FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology), and see how fashion has changed over a century.
