PHS Physics Classes Make CO2 Cars

Four Payson High School students are experiencing what it feels like to have their opinions heard. As an assignment for David Rockwood’s philosophy class, each student wrote and submitted an editorial letter to a Utah newspaper. Ann Marie Marck, Corbin Coombs, Emily Walker and Tanner Newbold each had their editorial published. The students were both surprised and excited to see their opinion in print.

On October 4 Sam Reynoso, Kaydee Shupe, Braiden Burrel, Cassidy Stanton, Chad Manning Angela Kenison, Shelby Thomas and Manny Braun were selected as winners of the short story writing contest held by Stephanie Riggs, Krystal Baker’s student teacher in her English classes at Payson High School.

On Wednesday, September 28, Payson High’s National Honor Society held their annual induction banquet to kick off the year. With 100 members, Payson’s NHS membership is the largest in school history. The Honor Society is made up of juniors and seniors that have at least a 3.75 GPA, so this is an exciting thing to have happening at PHS.
The Payson High School Social Studies Department, to highlight the accomplishments of our students, will publish monthly updates about their outstanding successes.

This past June, two Payson High School students Greg Baird and Melissa Green were nominated and selected to join the Utah Fast Pass organization on a tour of Washington DC. The purpose of the tour was to inspire the selected AP students to become better citizens and learn more about our nation’s history and government.

The Lady Lions Volleyball team started their season off 3-4 tripling their win record from last year.
This year there is a lot of talent on the court and the drive to win pushes the girls to play their best. They are working hard in practice has shown out on the court.
